If you want to construct a raised flower bed or vegetable garden, BBQ, firewood/ coal storage unit, brick or block boundary or entrance wall, garage, workshop, home extension, porch, or any other brick/ block wall project i'd recommend the Bricky as it's a tool that really helped me achieve a high-quality professional finish.
The Bricky tool, as seen on TV infomercial, includes the horizontal and vertical guides so you lay a precise mortar bed for both the horizontal and vertical joints during brick and block wall construction. As part of a current promotion you also receive a Marshall round-nose trowel, Mason's Mate (Pair of small metal brackets that anchor the string line to the top corner of the end brick/ block - much more efficient that the old line blocks or pins), Pro-Pointer (4 sized pointing tool for striking the mortar joints- gives a beautiful flat pointed finish), and the kit also includes a very clear valuable instruction DVD presented by the tools inventor Noel Marshall, Noel shows every detail of how to build an independent outbuilding (workshop or home office) build to current homebuilding regulation standards. He also shows how to build a BBQ and nice raised flower bed.
The Bricky wall-building tool is easy and fast to use, clean as it delivers precise mortar joints with almost no waste. It allows the DIY person build walls to professional standards and move their project along with speed and ease. Bricky is a simple but very effective tool, it acts as a template to ensure a perfect uniform bed of mortar is laid between courses of bricks and blocks. Wall construction requires both horizontal and vertical joints between every brick and block. The Bricky tool addresses both types of joints with its horizontal and two vertical mortar guides. Its suitable for standard brick and block on-edge construction in both US and UK Metric (W x D x H) dimensions:
US Bricks: 7 5/8" x 3 5/8" x 2 1/4"
US Blocks: 15 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 3 5/8" UK Metric Bricks: 215mm x 102.5mm x 65mm
UK Metric Blocks: 440mm x 215mm 100mm
Made from hardened ABS injection molded plastic, Bricky is extremely durable, rigid, and resistant to the elements.
The Horizontal Guide features;
Level vials on both horizontal plane.
40" (900mm) long template to receive a 5/8" (15mm) thick bed of mortar. This thickness is specifically calculated to allow for 1/4" (5mm) compaction and ensure that a standard 3/8" (10mm) joint is achieved and securely bonded.
Back end is open (bridged) to allow you slide the tool along the wall as you progress.
Four stainless spring guides ensure the tool remains centered on the wall. The springs rounded edges allow the user to move the tool along the wall with ease. Protective cases are specifically located so the mortar bed will meet precisely at the corners.
The Vertical Guides features:
Two vertical guides for vertical joints in brick and standard blocks, designed with rounded positioning guides to ensure the user can quickly plaster in this joint.
Templates receive a 5/8" (15mm) vertical bed of mortar. This thickness is specifically calculated to allow for 1/4" (5mm) compression and ensure that the standard 3/8" (10mm) finished joint is achieved and securely bonded.
